Internet Plans
Internet Plans define the access limits and conditions applied to WiFi users.
A plan can control connection speed, available bandwidth, Internet usage time, account expiration, allowed access periods, device restrictions, hotspot access, pricing, and other user access settings.
Instead of configuring these limits separately for every user, administrators can create reusable Internet Plans and assign them whenever accounts or WiFi access products are created.
Create an Internet Plan
To create a new plan:
Open Setup → Internet Plans.
Click New Internet Plan.
Enter the plan name and description.
Configure the required bandwidth, time, access, device, and pricing options.
Click Save.
The new plan will then appear in the list of available Internet Plans.
You can create multiple plans for different types of WiFi access.
For example:
Free guest WiFi
1-hour access
Daily access
Premium high-speed access
Monthly access
Paid WiFi packages
Staff or internal access
Plan Information
Name
Enter a clear name that identifies the Internet Plan.
Examples:
Free WiFi
Daily Access
Premium 24 Hours
Monthly WiFi
The plan name helps administrators identify the plan and may also be displayed to users depending on the Splash Page configuration.
Description
Enter a short description explaining what the plan provides.
Keep the description clear enough that administrators and users can distinguish it from other available plans.
Note
Use Note for additional information that should accompany the Internet Plan.
This can be used to highlight an important condition, benefit, or limitation of the plan.
Plan Preview for Login or Signup Splash
Configure how the Internet Plan will be presented when it is displayed on a Login or Signup Splash Page.
This allows available plans to be presented more clearly when users select their WiFi access option.
Bandwidth Limits
Internet Plans can control how much data a user is allowed to transfer.
Bandwidth Quota
Bandwidth Quota defines the total amount of traffic available to the user.
The quota can be configured in MB, GB, or TB depending on the amount of data you want to provide.
When the available quota is exhausted, Internet access is restricted according to the configured plan limits.
Monthly Bandwidth Limit
Use Monthly Bandwidth Limit when you want to restrict how much data a user can consume during a monthly period.
This is useful for recurring or longer-term access plans where users should receive a defined amount of traffic each month.
Daily Bandwidth Limit
Daily Bandwidth Limit defines the amount of traffic available to the user each day.
When the daily allowance is consumed, the user must wait until the next daily period before the available daily limit becomes available again.
Daily limits are useful when you want to prevent a user from consuming the entire plan allowance in a short period.
Download and Upload Rate
Use the Download Rate and Upload Rate settings to control the maximum connection speed available to users assigned to the plan.
Rates are configured in Mbps.
For example, you can create:
Basic access with lower speeds
Standard guest access
Premium access with higher speeds
Different rates can be used to create separate service levels without changing the underlying guest WiFi network.
Internet Usage Time
Time
Time defines the total amount of Internet usage available with the plan.
The available time is consumed while the user is connected.
Use this setting for plans such as:
30 minutes
1 hour
3 hours
24 hours
Unlimited Time
Enable Unlimited Time when the account should not be restricted by accumulated Internet usage time.
This is useful for plans controlled by another limit, such as:
Account expiration
Bandwidth quota
Daily limits
Monthly access
Daily Time Limit
Daily Time Limit restricts how much Internet usage time is available during each day.
After the daily time allowance is consumed, the user can access the Internet again when the next daily period begins.
For example, an account can remain valid for 30 days while providing only two hours of Internet usage per day.
Access Schedule
Access Schedule controls the days and times when users assigned to the Internet Plan are allowed to access the WiFi network.
The graphical schedule displays the days of the week and available time periods.
Configure the blocks during which WiFi access should be allowed.
For example, access can be limited to:
Business hours
School hours
Conference schedules
Specific days of the week
Staff working hours
If a user is connected when an allowed access period ends, the session can be terminated according to the configured schedule.
This allows administrators to control not only how much Internet access users receive, but also when they are allowed to use it.
Expiration
Expiration defines how long the account remains valid after its first login.
For example, if expiration is configured for 10 days, the account can be used during the 10-day validity period starting from the first login.
After the validity period expires, the user can no longer access the Internet with that account.
Expiration and Internet usage time serve different purposes:
Time controls how much connection time can actually be consumed.
Expiration controls the calendar period during which the account can be used.
For example, a user can receive 5 hours of Internet usage valid for 7 days.
Autologin Devices
Enable Autologin Devices when devices using this plan should be eligible for automatic login.
Once a supported device has been identified and authorized, WiFi Hotspot can automatically recognize it according to the configured Autologin settings.
This is useful for returning visitors who should reconnect without repeating the complete login process every time.
Multi-Device
Enable Multi-Device when the same account should be allowed to connect from more than one device.
Users connected with the same account share the limits assigned to that account.
For example, if the account has a defined bandwidth or speed limit, connected devices use the available resources according to the plan configuration.
Use this option for scenarios where one account needs to provide access to a phone, laptop, tablet, or other devices.
Fixed MAC
Enable Fixed MAC when the account should be restricted to the device associated with the account.
This provides additional control when an account should not be freely shared between different devices.
Use Fixed MAC only when device-based access control is required for the selected plan.
Active
Enable Active to make the Internet Plan available for use.
Inactive plans remain configured in the system but cannot be used for normal account generation until they are activated again.
This is useful when you want to temporarily stop offering a plan without deleting its configuration.
Create Users as Active
Enable Create Users as Active when accounts created with this Internet Plan should be activated automatically.
Disable this option if newly created users should require administrator approval before they receive Internet access.
Price
Use Price to define the cost of the Internet Plan when the plan is sold as paid WiFi access.
Free plans can be configured without a charge, while paid plans can use different prices according to their access limits.
For example:
Free WiFi
1 Hour – $5
24 Hours – $10
Premium Week – $25
The actual plans and prices should reflect your own WiFi service.
Subscription
Enable Subscription when the Internet Plan is used with supported automatic recurring billing.
For Stripe automatic billing, customer payment information and recurring payment processing are handled through the configured Stripe integration.
Use this option only for plans intended to renew automatically at the configured billing interval.
Refill User Account on Every Login
Refill User Account on Every Login restores the configured plan time and quota when the user logs in again.
For example, if a user has consumed part of the available time or bandwidth, the limits can be restored to the full plan values on the next login.
Enable this option only when this behavior is intentional.
For normal quota-based or prepaid access, where remaining time or bandwidth should continue from the previous session, leave this option disabled.
Enable Plan Reuse After
Enable Plan Reuse After defines when a user is allowed to sign up again using the same Internet Plan.
This is useful for controlling repeated free access.
For example, a free WiFi plan can be configured so that the same user can sign up again only after a specified period.
This helps prevent users from continuously creating new free sessions immediately after their previous access expires.
Limit Hotspots
Use Limit Hotspots to control where users assigned to the Internet Plan are allowed to connect.
Depending on the required access policy, you can:
Allow the plan on selected hotspots.
Restrict access to specific hotspots.
Prevent the plan from being used at selected hotspots.
This is particularly useful in multi-location deployments where the same WiFi Hotspot account manages several properties, areas, or network services.
For example, a plan can be valid only at one hotel, one group of hotspots, or a specific service area.
Example Internet Plans
Different plan settings can be combined depending on the WiFi service you want to provide.
Free Guest WiFi
Free access
Limited download/upload speed
Daily time limit
Plan reuse restriction
Premium Daily WiFi
Higher download/upload speed
24-hour expiration
Defined bandwidth allowance
Paid access
Monthly User
30-day access
Monthly bandwidth limit
Unlimited accumulated connection time
Multi-device access when required
These are only examples. Configure each Internet Plan according to the access policy required for your WiFi service.
Test a New Internet Plan
After creating or modifying an Internet Plan, test it before making it available to users.
Save the Internet Plan.
Create a test user or make the plan available through the appropriate Splash Page.
Connect a test device to the guest WiFi network.
Complete the login process.
Confirm that Internet access is available.
Verify download and upload speed limits.
Check the available time and bandwidth quota.
Verify account expiration when applicable.
Test device restrictions such as Multi-Device or Fixed MAC when enabled.
Confirm that hotspot restrictions work correctly when Limit Hotspots is configured.
Testing is particularly important when several limits are combined in the same plan.
Choosing the Right Limits
Internet Plans can combine time, bandwidth, speed, expiration, schedule, device, and hotspot restrictions.
Avoid enabling limits that are not required for the intended service.
A simple free guest WiFi plan may need only speed and daily access limits, while a paid or subscription plan may require expiration, bandwidth allowance, device limits, pricing, and hotspot restrictions.
Keeping each plan focused on its intended purpose makes the WiFi service easier to manage and easier for users to understand.
