SonicWall Gateway

This guide explains the basic configuration required to connect a SonicWall gateway with Antamedia WiFi Hotspot using RADIUS authentication.

Before starting, make sure you have the required Antamedia WiFi Hotspot RADIUS details from your Antamedia account, including the RADIUS server IP address, authentication port, accounting port, and shared secret.

Log in to your account on the Antamedia WiFi Hotspot platform, go to WiFi Locations, create a location, and add the SonicWall gateway as a network device.

Use the SonicWall WAN MAC address as the device identifier, because this value must match the identifier sent by SonicWall to the RADIUS server.

On the SonicWall gateway, configure RADIUS authentication and accounting using the Antamedia RADIUS server details.
The standard ports are:

Authentication: UDP 1812

Accounting: UDP 1813

Use the shared secret provided in the Antamedia WiFi Hotspot portal.
The same shared secret must be configured on both Antamedia and SonicWall.

Very important:

On the SonicWall, go to:

Network / IPSec VPN / Rules and Settings / Settings

In the Settings tab, configure Unique Firewall Identifier as the SonicWall WAN MAC address.

Example:

18-C2-41-A1-47-01

This value must match the WAN MAC/device identifier configured in Antamedia WiFi Hotspot. If the identifier does not match, the RADIUS request may be rejected or the gateway may not be recognized correctly by the portal.

After saving the SonicWall settings, test guest login through the captive portal.

If users cannot authenticate, check that the SonicWall can reach the Antamedia RADIUS server, that UDP ports 1812 and 1813 are not blocked by firewall rules, and that the shared secret is exactly the same on both sides.

Please consult our technical team if you need additional SonicWall-specific RADIUS, or Antamedia captive portal settings.
